What is a BDE course?

BDE stands for Beginner Driver Education. This course is developed for beginner drivers or those who have not driven in Ontario. Students will be taught the skills and attitudes they need in order to be a safe and responsible driver. It is comprised of 20 hours of online learning, 10 hours of online homework, and 10 hours of in-car training

How can I book my road test?

You can book your road test online at drivetest.ca.

I don't have a licence yet, can I still do the BDE course?

Yes, you can complete the online learning before getting your license. However, you must have a G1 license to start the in-car portion.

Will I get an insurance discount if I complete the course?

The Driver’s Licence History provides proof of successful completion of and graduation from a BDE course and is widely recognized by the insurance industry as proof of course completion. BDE Graduates with a Driver’s Licence History may be eligible for an insurance discount. Discount rates depend on many factors such as age, type of car, driving record, insurance company, etc.

Are 10 hours of in-car training enough for me?

Your instructor will be able to tell you near the end of the 10 hours if you need more practice.

How do I book my lessons?

After you register, you will be able to see the Instructor’s availability and book your lessons online

Are your Instructors qualified to teach?

Yes. All of our Instructors have a valid Driving Instructor Licence, completed formal training, and are experienced.

How do I get my certificate after completing the BDE course?

Upon successful completion of your BDE course, your certification will be added to your Driver’s Licence History. You can request this document at any Service Ontario and the cost is $15. You can only get this once the Ministry has your information so it’s best to confirm with the school before going to Service Ontario

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy varies depending on which package you register with:

Basic and Preferred Packages

If you need to cancel or reschedule, you must inform us 24 hours before your appointment. If 24-hour notice is given, we will cancel or reschedule your appointment. If less than 24-hour notice or no notice is given, you will be charged $20. Exceptions may be made for some circumstances. You can inform us if you need to cancel by texting or calling 905-517-0798. Please note, that we reserve the right to cancel and/or reschedule with less than 24 hours’ notice due to extenuating circumstances. We will do our best to provide as much notice as possible. Instructors can be 10-30 minutes late, depending on traffic.

Private Students and Car Rentals

If you need to cancel or reschedule, you must inform us 24 hours before your appointment time. If 24-hour notice is given, we will refund the full amount within 72 hours. If less than 24-hour notice or no notice is given, refunds will not be permitted. You can inform us if you need to cancel by texting or calling 905-517-0798. Please note that we reserve the right to cancel and/or reschedule with less than 24 hours’ notice due to extenuating circumstances. We will do our best to provide as much notice as possible. Instructors can be 10-30 minutes late, depending on traffic.
